Rudraksha Energising & Puja

 

AUSPICIOUS DAY

The most pious day for wearing a Rudraksh bead is Thursday falling in Pushya Nakshatra. Push Nakshatra is ruled by the planet Saturn and enjoys favourable influence of the planet Jupiter. It comes once every month. But, a Thursday in a Pushya Nakshatra comes only once or twice in a year. So if one can afford waiting, such a thursday shall be the most auspicious day to wear or "Dharan" a Rudraksh.

For other favourable periods, one should consult a 'Panchang'. If unable to wear on a Thursday falling in Pushya Nakshatra,  one should find other 'shubh mahurat' in the Pushya Nakshatra.

 

ENERGISING PROCEDURE

Ideally, the energising puja for the Rudraksh bead should begin atleast 20 days before the date of wearing.

 For the First Thirteen days,

1. the Rudraksh bead or Rudraksh maala should be kept in a pure iron utensil filled with 'gau mutra' (cow urine).
2. the ' gau mutra ' should be from one cow only,
3. ' gau mutra'  should be changed every morning, and
4. before changing the 'gau mutra' the Rudraksh bead or maala should be properly cleaned.

 

 On the Thirteenth day,

1.   In the evening, the rudraksh bead or maala should be taken out, cleansed with 'ganga jal'
2. after its 'abhishek' with ' gangajal ', the rudraksh bead or maala hould be kept on a copper platter or other pure and clean utensil/platter.
3. it should be left in this state throughout the night.

 

Fourteenth to Twentieth day,

1.   On the fourteenth day, the Rudraksh bead or maala should be immersed in raw/unboiled cows milk ie 'kachcha gau dugdh'
2. in the early morning of the fifteenth, sixteenth, seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth day, the Rudraksh should be taken out from the cows milk , first cleaned with normal water and then purified with 'gangajal'. Then the cows milk should be changed and the rudraskh reimmersed in it.
3. On the twentieth day, the rudraksh may be cleaned with a soft brush while cleaning it with normal water.
4. In the evening of the twentieth day, the Rudraksh should be purified with 'gangajal' and kept atop a copper platter or some other pure/clean utensil or platter.
5. It should be left in this state all through the night.  

 

After the  sunrise on the Twenty First day, we should start the Puja Of the Rudraksh. This day should ideally be a Thursday in Pushya Nakshatra.
