Various puranas and shatra's provide detailed information about number of Rudraksh that should be worn on various parts of the body for maximising the positive effects of this magical bead. As per shrimadevibhagwat, the ' punya ' that one gets after reading the four vedas and puranas, visiting the pious 'tirth sthans' and from gaining all the knowledge possible, is immediately available from wearing a properly energised and pujit rudraksh. The wearer of rudraksh attains solace, and on his death goes straight to Rudra-lok, thus exiting the cycle of rebirth.
